new ryanair routes

Despite what ‘the Beast from the East’ might bring this week, we’re just coming out of winter…but already, Ryanair is looking ahead to the next one. It’s a little like how some supermarkets put out Easter eggs during January, or Christmas decorations in September!

The budget carrier has just announced nine new routes from Ireland in its Winter 2018 schedule. Seven will be from Dublin, one from Cork, and one from Ireland West (Knock). Flights on the new Ryanair routes are already on sale, at fares from €19.99 each way.

New Ryanair routes from Dublin

The new routes from Dublin will be:

  • Athens, Greece (twice weekly)
  • Bari, Italy (twice weekly)
  • Frankfurt, Germany (twice weekly)
  • Luxembourg (three times weekly)
  • Marrakesh, Morocco (twice weekly)
  • Paphos, Cyprus (once weekly)
  • Santander, Spain (twice weekly)

Some of these services exist as summer flights only, but will be extended to year-round flights.

New Ryanair routes from Cork and Knock

The other two new routes for Winter 2018 will be:

  • Cork to Faro, Portugal (twice weekly)
  • Ireland West (Knock) to Bristol, England (three times weekly)

Again, these are extensions of services that currently exist as summer flights only.

Extra capacity for Summer 2018

Ryanair has also announced it is extending capacity on several existing routes for Summer 2018.

From Dublin, there will be extra flights to destinations including Barcelona, Birmingham, Budapest, Cologne, Faro, Krakow, Madrid, and Venice.

Shannon will have additional flights to Bristol, Liverpool, and Manchester.

The extension of services will continue into the winter schedule too. Dublin will have eight weekly flights to Lanzarote, and nine to Malaga.

Ryanair says its extended services will deliver 15.6 million passengers per annum, and support 11,700 jobs at Irish airports.
